MCU: 10 Truly Insane Crossovers We Need To See
5. All The Fantastic Fours
The Fantastic Four has had a troubled legacy of cinematic adaptations to say the least. Tim Story's pair of Fantastic Four adaptations provided a kid-friendly, though ultimately mediocre, big screen treatment while the Roger Corman and Josh Trank versions exploded on the launch pad. This pair of mind-meltingly, horrifically-bad big screen versions of Marvel's first family could make any fan give up hope that a credible cinematic adaptation is even possible.
We'll soon find out when Marvel attempts yet again to make a version of the Fantastic Four that doesn't make fans want to poke their eyes out in 2023. Given that fans met the previous onscreen versions of these characters with either indifference or out-right hostility, Marvel would be well-advised to give the previous iterations of the characters a wide berth.
But, since Kevin Feige is already attempting to reclaim Howard the Duck from the dustbin of crummy comic adaptations history, is any horrible misstep from Marvel's cinematic past completely irredeemable?
Michael Chiklis was born to play the Thing. Fans might be surprised at what he could do if the film around him is worthy of his performance as the sad sack sentient rock pile. What about Chris Evans' cocky human torch? Now that the actor has hung up Cap's shield in Endgame, reviving his Johnny Storm might be a way to bring the actor back in the fold.
The glory of the multiverse concept is that Marvel gets a chance to take the best and leave the rest.
