MCU: 10 Worst Things The Avengers Have Done
7. Thor Abandoned Asgard
There aren't many characters who have had as rough a time in the MCU as Thor. The God of Thunder lost both his mother and father; he lost the Warriors Three; he lost Loki multiple times and was forced to watch Thanos kill both him and Heimdall; and he was left with no choice but to destroy his own home. On top of all this, Thor solely blamed himself for the deaths of half the universe after giving Thanos the opportunity to snap his fingers in Wakanda.
After finishing the job, taking the Mad Titan's head clean off his shoulders, Thor was free to return to his people and watch over them as King of New Asgard.
Only the King didn't look after his people who had trusted him and followed him into the complete unknown. Thor returned from the Garden to New Asgard, and over the next five years fell into a pit of alcoholism and depression, isolating himself from everyone but Korg and Miek.
While this reaction to the events of Thor's recent past was understandable, the God of Thunder was not just a normal man, he was a King with people who depended on him. But instead of leading these people into the new chapter of their lives after destroying their home, he abandoned them, only showing his face to re-stock on beer when he ran dry.
