MCU: 11 Things You Learn Rewatching Iron Man 2

1. The Final Battle Is Ridiculously Short

The final confrontation between Iron Man and Whiplash received plenty of flak at the time for feeling too similar to the climactic battle of the previous movie - once again, Iron Man battles a crazy dude in a giant Iron Man suit - but what's actually surprising on a rewatch is just how damn short the fight is.

Favreau devotes far too much time to Iron Man and War Machine battling the drones, while the final fight against Whiplash doesn't even last two minutes, with the villain being quickly bested by the pair before summarily committing suicide with his suit's self-destruct mechanism.

This is not what fans expected, clearly, and though a few MCU movies have cleverly subverted the typical CGI-drenched final showdown - namely the death-by-dance-battle in Guardians of the Galaxy - here it just felt like nobody really cared to give the film a proper climax.
