MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Avengers: Age Of Ultron

1. The Final Gag Isn't That Funny

The movie ends on a final cutesy gag, as Cap and Black Widow gather the new Avengers to begin training at the group's new facility in Upstate New York. As he readies to quip the signature line, "Avengers, Assemble!", Whedon kills the line off mid-way, as we smash cut to black and the credits roll.

It's harmless, sure, but the line does feel a little on the smug side (something Whedon is often guilty of), and Evans' line reading - where he over-acts the lead into the word "Assemble" with a wide opening of his mouth - makes it look stagey and hokey in retrospect.

Are we reading way too deep into this? Perhaps, but it's not just the hilarious exclamation point Whedon clearly thought it was.
