MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Avengers: Age Of Ultron
12. It's Much Better Looking Than The Avengers
Though the first Avengers movie is generally accepted to be vastly superior to Age of Ultron, the sequel does effortlessly surpass it in one key area: it's much more visually appealing.
The original film was shot in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, which despite that all-star cast and the CGI-driven bombast, made it look and feel like a big-budget TV episode rather than the blockbuster event that it actually was.
Age of Ultron, thankfully, was shot in the far more cinematic 2.39:1 ratio, ensuring that in conjunction with better lighting and still-impressive visual effects, it actually looks every bit the colossal tentpole it is.
While it may not be terribly shocking that a sequel looks better than the movie that preceded it, the infinitely stronger cinematography makes it a much bigger visual leap than just "the CGI is better."
