MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Doctor Strange
10. The Timeline Is Still Very Confusing
Despite the fact that the writers have claimed Doctor Strange is set in early 2016, it's still hard to accept that HYDRA would have identified him as a target for the Triskellion's "interesting targets" algorithm. Why would they be bothered by a surgeon so arrogant that he couldn't look past his no-kill record? It just doesn't.
And on top of that, if it genuinely is supposed to be set in 2016, with his physical therapy and his apparently exhaustive attempts to find a medical solution to his hand injuries and then his time in Kamar-Taj, the whole thing is improbably condensed. There can be no way the crash to him becoming Sorceror Supreme takes less than a year... It's just needlessly distracting to the story to suggest it.
