MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
11. It Boasts Some Of The MCU's Best Visuals
While the MCU often catches flak for its rather flat, TV-like visuals - as is especially apparent in The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World and Ant-Man - both Guardians movies are among the very best looking films in the entire franchise.
Vol. 2 builds on the original's spectacular, acid-tipped aesthetic with a wealth of vibrant colour, aided by first-rate visual effects and immaculate production design (how great does the Sovereign palace look?).
Perhaps nothing in the movie is quite as majestic, however, as Ego's planet, which honestly might be the most impressive creation the MCU has yet put to screen. Certain elements of the final battle are also superbly wrought, and that closing Ravager funeral is nothing if not totally eye-popping.
While there's a clear visual inconsistency problem across the MCU, Guardians Vol. 2 sits alongside Doctor Strange and Thor: Ragnarok as the high bar for all future movies.
