MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching The Incredible Hulk

12. The Opening Montage Is A Gamble That Pays Off

There surely must've been the temptation to simply re-tell the Hulk's (Edward Norton) origin story in the first act of this movie, but coming just five years after Ang Lee's divisive Hulk film, Marvel Studios instead smartly decided to reboot the property in a snappy, three-minute opening titles montage.

Though the sequence is undeniably goofy - presumably as an intentional homage to the original 1970s TV show - it's a fairly bold move for a 2008 movie to assume that casual audiences will understand what it all means.

After all, even four years following the release of this movie, Sony still pointlessly decided to re-tell Spider-Man's origin story rather than give viewers the benefit of the doubt.

The montage may be rough around the edges, but it gets the job done and gives the film the forward-momentum it needs to not just lazily rehash the previous film's plot.
