MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching The Incredible Hulk

10. The Bottling Subplot Is Extremely Silly

When the story kicks off, Bruce is working at a bottling factory in Brazil while trying to keep a low profile, a plan that's quickly derailed when he cuts his hand while working, and a giant goop of his blood ends up contaminating a soda bottle, which is eventually consumed by an elderly man (Stan Lee).

In what's surely the goofiest primer for any MCU movie yet, this allows General Ross (William Hurt) to trace the bottle to the plant where Banner worked and deduce his location.

Aside from being comically contrived and featuring a rare Stan Lee cameo that ties directly into the core plot, was there seriously not a more straight-faced, less-silly way to get Ross on Banner's tail?

It's a very comic book-y set-up for the rest of the movie, and not really in a good way.
