MCU: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Thor: Ragnarok

3. There Are So Many Wasted Characters

As fun as Ragnarok is, it really does a disservice to a number of its supporting characters. Most egregious is Heimdall (Idris Elba), who has just a handful of totally forgettable scenes as an Asgardian exile, and the Warriors Three, who are quickly murdered by Hela. Sure, the movie needs to sell Hela's strength, but the trio are dispatched so dismissively it's like we weren't ever supposed to care about them.

Elsewhere there's Skurge (Karl Urban), Hela's intermittently amusing executioner, but given Urban's talent, the part feels rather underwritten and just not interesting enough.

And finally, we have Fenris Wolf. The marketing suggested Fenris would have an epic battle against The Hulk, but in the final movie, it's actually a pretty truncated affair. The prospect of a giant wolf attacking Asgard had huge potential, but the character comes and goes in a matter of minutes.

Sure, Taika Waititi had a lot to juggle, but even so, did all these characters need to get such a short shrift?
