MCU: 14 Things You Learn Rewatching Guardians Of The Galaxy

13. Ronan Is Really Weak (But Should Be Better In Captain Marvel)

It was bad enough at the time, but rewatching Guardians - especially after Marvel have finally started to raise their game villain wise - it's really apparent just how bad Ronan is.

There's nothing done to explain his character beyond saying that he's a Kree fanatic (which won't mean much to most viewers anyway) and Lee Pace, who can be a good dick (just see his excellent turn in Halt and Catch Fire) gives a completely disinterested performance where any character is lost under the make-up.

That being said, there is a chance for redemption through Captain Marvel, where Pace will be reprising the role. Set long before Guardians, and focusing on the Kree-Skrull war, it should do a lot to flesh out his character and give him much more to play with. If Pace turns up, then there is something to work with, even if it might not make Ronan any better here.
