19. When Tony Found The Shawarma Place
One of the funniest, and genuinely most memorable moments from the entire movie is when the Avengers find themselves sat around in silence eating shawarma. It was Tony that suggested getting lunch there just after he fell back through the wormhole and Hulk roared him awake.
With Tony Stark being a resident of New York, and the fact that the entire battle was literally centered around Stark Tower, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Tony just liked shawarma. Or at least he'd had his eye on this particular establishment for some time.
The truth however, is confirmed as part of a scene just after Iron Man channels his inner Jonah and comes flying through one of the Chitauri's Leviathans. Just seconds after he hits the floor he is attacked once again by more of Loki's alien army, but that's all it took for him to clock what he fancied for lunch.
It's as blink-and-you'll-miss-it as it gets, but the shawarma place can be seen in the background of the scene. Tony had probably never even heard of this place before, but still managed to see it while working on saving the world.
