Though fans are yet to see a new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home way back in July 2019, Phase Four is well under way.

WandaVision has come and gone, and we are almost half way through The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but fans already have their eyes firmly set on 2022.

Next year is set to be the biggest in the history of the MCU, with the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and of course, Thor: Love and Thunder.

The latter is currently filming, and while set photos have leaked the casting of Melissa McCarthy and the potential involvement of Jeff Goldblum, Marvel Studios have recently confirmed that the movie has added a huge name to the cast in the form of Russell Crowe.

His role will reportedly be something of a cameo, and the announcement has got fans theorizing over exactly who the New Zealand native could be bringing to life. With the vast array of characters at Taika Waititi's fingertips, it's fair to say that there are some more than exciting potential candidates.

Comic book fans have been desperate to see Beta Ray Bill make his MCU debut for years now, and of course the Thor franchise would be the place to do it. Surely, time is running out in this regard, so Love and Thunder would be the perfect place to bring him in.

The character was teased in Thor: Ragnarok with a carving on the Grandmaster's tower, so it may be that he has spent time on Sakaar in the past, and is waiting in the wings to step into the MCU properly. Fans now believe that he will do so while being voiced by Russell Crowe.

So much so that the Korbinite started trending on Twitter just hours after the actor's involvement in the movie was announced.

The Mjolnir-wielding alien would likely only be voiced by Crowe, with motion capture duties being undertaken by someone else, in a similar way to how Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel portray Rocket and Groot.

Crowe certainly has a commanding voice that would be more what fans would expect from the character, as opposed to the unique way in which Taika Waititi brought Korg to life in Ragnarok.
