Fans tend to think of Kate Bishop as a relatively new character, and that'd be correct. Even though she's been around since the late 2000s, that's nothing compared to some of Marvel's other characters, who've been going strong since the sixties and seventies.

However, during that time, Kate has managed to cement herself as a staple of the House of Ideas' comics. She's featured prominently in every volume of Hawkeye after her initial introduction, and even led the series on her own for a time. Add to that sporadic roles in various Marvel events, and even recurring roles in several team books, and it's little surprise Marvel fans consider Clint and Kate to be equals.

They share the title, and it works perfectly. Even better is the fact that Bishop is one of several recent Marvel characters who've been placed on an upward trajectory, with Spider-Gwen arguably the only other character who's experienced as meteoric a rise.
