4. The Character Could Be Clint's Replacement

Say what you will about Jeremy Renner, but there's no denying he's had remarkably little to do as Hawkeye in the MCU thus far.

The actor, who has been desperately searching for a new franchise to star in since the start of the decade, may finally get his wish with this series. However, could this move to the small screen mark a permanent departure from the role in Marvel's films? It's certainly possible, with Variety specifically mentioning that Clint will "pass the torch" to the younger archer, and while Hawkeye fans may feel a slight tinge of disappointment to hear that, it may be for the best.

Renner clearly had grander designs in mind when he signed on to play Barton in 2011's Thor, but having constantly found himself overlooked in each of Marvel's films - at least when compared to the other Avengers - bowing out of the part in this fashion would seemingly make a lot of sense.

Of course, the downside to all of this is that the dynamic between Clint and Kate is such a good one. It could sustain several shows - let alone just one - but if this is how Barton exits the MCU, so be it.
