MCU: Every In Development (& Rumoured) Marvel Movie & TV Show - Ranked
2. Captain Marvel
Status: Confirmed
Release: March 8, 2019
The marketing for Captain Marvel has been a little... off. Not that it looks bad, but more so it feels like it's really holding back, which means the stuff it can show isn't going to be the best part of the movie. That's a double-edged sword: it means the goods will be saved for the film, but it also means people aren't quite as excited as they should be.
Nonetheless, Captain Marvel is a big deal. She's the most powerful hero in the MCU, and the future of it too. It's got young Nick Fury, the Kree-Skrull War, and will likely have major implications for Endgame and other movies, perhaps even setting up Secret Invasion. There's a strong cast, led by Oscar-winner Brie Larson, and a very 90s action-comedy tone (and setting), which should help it stand out from the rest of the MCU. Fury paged Captain Marvel at the end of Infinity War for a good reason; it's going to be fun to see exactly what that was. And if nothing else, that website is GREAT.
