MCU: Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie Ranked Worst To Best
20. Iron Man 2 (2010)
Given that most people would rightly acknowledge that Robert Downey Jr was the MCU's most important foundation stone, it's still a shock how poorly made his second real appearance was (there's no point counting his Incredible Hulk cameo there).
As with The Dark World, Iron Man 2 has some good ideas- like Tony's psuedo-addiction and downward spiral (taken straight out of the comics) and the excellent Justin Hammer - but it's as lost as the original is confident and focused.
RDJ is himself great - as ever - and Sam Rockwell is a good new addition, but Mickey Rourke's Whiplash is a better idea than he is in execution (partly thanks to more over-zealous editing, apparently) and the action is silly without the right balance of inter-cast chemistry that's so definitive elsewhere in the series.
