MCU: Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie Ranked Worst To Best
19. The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Apparently, for some people, it would be easier to just pretend that Louis Leterrier's The Incredible Hulk doesn't actually count as a real MCU movie. It's always been counted as the black sheep of the franchise, but thanks to the post-credits stinger, there's no way to deny its part.
And frankly, it isn't quite as bad as it's often been accused of being. Ed Norton isn't as good a Bruce Banner as Mark Ruffalo but he's better than Eric Bana and the story here is a lot more traditional than Ang Lee's more poetic take on the character. On top of that, William Hurt's Thunderbolt Ross is great and the Abomination works as a good foe for Hulk (particularly as Tim Roth's performance transcends the material so much.
Sadly, like the only two MCU movies that rank below it, The Incredible Hulk is the product of interference and too many cooks without enough definitive drive. Who is to say what could have been made if either Leterrier or Ed Norton had been in full control from the get-go, but it surely must have been better than this.
