MCU: Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie Ranked Worst To Best

15. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Despite how good it is to see Cap in the modern MCU era, it's a real shame that we didn't get to see more of him alongside the The Howling Commandoes beating up Nazis and HYDRA. But this was the only way to introduce the franchise's man out of time and it's arguably only because it worked too well that there can be any complaints.

Chris Evans is wonderfully cast as the naive but heroic Steve Rogers, but Sebastian Stan is just as good as charming rogue Bucky and Hugo Weaving steals the show as Red Skull. On top of that trio, there's an impressive supporting cast including talent as big as Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Stanley Tucci and Toby Jones and the film is very much a sum of its parts. Sure, it's understated, but that's really not a problem.

It's twin testament to the film's success that not only would fans love to have seen more of the period setting but also that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins so obviously used it as a reference point.
