MCU: Every Single Marvel Movie Post-Credits Scene (And What They Mean)

The Scene(s)

With Earth safe once more, Jane Foster sits around her apartment glumly with her annoying as hell friends and Dr Selvig (clearly free of the mental health issues laughed at elsewhere in the film), playing with a bowl of ice cream.

Cue a crash of distant thunder and a portal opening to teleport Thor to her rooftop garden. She smiles, they kiss, and another scene plays showing a frost monster from Jotunheim running around on the rooftops of London, never to be mentioned again.

What It Meant

Firstly, that Thor really meant that he couldn't take over the throne of Asgard, and that he was doing it for the love of Jane Foster, and secondly that none of these characters had any idea of the correct way to clean up after their battles. Worryingly, this meant that Thor had taken his eye off the ball, and allowed Loki to pose as Odin and rule Asgard.

You'd think that this commitment would mean that Jane Foster would continue to be a major player in the MCU. She wasn't, as she was basically quickly erased after this movie.

Presumably, that monster is still terrorising sheep on some suburban farm land.
