22. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 - Adam Warlock

Quite when we're going to see the third Guardians movie remains to be seen, but it still looks likely that we're going to get James Gunn's vision for it whenever it comes. That will see Ayesha continuing her plot for vengeance on the Guardians after Rocket Raccoon stole from her people and openly disrespected them.

That plot will also feature the debut of fan favourite character Adam Warlock, who Ayesha has built as a superior being and a weapon to take down the Guardians. We see the first "look" at him in his genesis chamber in Vol 2's credits sequences, hinting that we'll see a similar storyline to his appearance in the comics.

It made the appearance of a Warlock-like cocoon in the Thor: The Dark World post-credits scene a little confusing, but it was a strong way to seed the third movie that was quickly announced. And then not so quickly made...
