17. Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 - Teenage Groot

The debut of teenage Groot in the Guardians Vol 2 credits was definitely a high-point of the best credits sequence in the entire MCU. It turned a previously adorable figure into a surly teenager (with an implied masturbation problem) and essentially made Peter Quill his surrogate mother. That in itself is inherently very funny.

This scene acts as a primer for Infinity War's version of Groot - who admittedly doesn't really have all that much to do in the film other than help Thor make Stormbreaker - and it's a good way to highlight the various different stages he goes through to become the fully-grown Groot we saw in the first movie.

It's is, of course, a shame that we won't get more Baby Groot, but this was a good way to advance the character without anyone getting Minion-fever too much and being put off.
