The Cameo: At the Mjolnir crash site, Stan uses his pick-up truck to try and pull the hammer from the earth.
The story of Thor's banishment from Asgard and subsequent quest to reclaim Mjolnir is one of the stronger points of the first Thor film.
When the magical hammer is discovered, we are treated to a humorous montage of several rednecks trying unsuccessfully to lift it; a sort of beer-soaked Excalibur story. When all attempts to move the artefact fail, the hammer is hooked to a pick-up truck.
Everyone cheers, but a couple of revs later, the entire back of the truck is torn off, leaving Mjolnir exactly where it was. The driver, Stan, turns around and enthusiastically asks, "Did it work?" This cameo comes almost as a surprise, and is as funny as any Stan Lee appearance to date.
