In the spirit of continuing comedic actors turning their attention to more dramatic roles, the same could be said for that of Jason Sudeikis, with his seamless transition into the serious that Ted Lasso has made evident. His depiction of the AFC Richmond coach has not only garnered popularity among viewers, but also critical acclaim and appraisal due to the actor’s honest and vulnerable portrayal of the character he created.

Acting as not only the show’s star but also a writer and executive producer, the Virginia native has two Emmys already to his name with the possibility of more to come his way, and an actor of his expertise would be well suited to the MCU, and a character such as Reed Richards. Not only does Jason share a similar comic-book appearance to Reed, but he could also tap into the character’s psyche perfectly.

Richards is an individual who lacks a sense of humour, for sure. However, with the current slate of the MCU opting for a lighter tone, Sudeikis would offer natural comedy but depth to the part also, bringing a fitting balance to a character who’s due on-screen justice. The American is no stranger to leading a gang of misfits and oddballs with 2013’s We’re the Millers in mind, and with fellow Ted Lasso mainstay Brett Goldstein joining the MCU already, Sudeikis may very well join his co-star in suiting up to lead the Fantastic Four next.
