MCU Fantastic Four: 10 Lessons Disney Need To Learn From Fant4stic

6. A Villian With Purpose

Fant4stic's villian felt like an afterthought in the final product. It was like the film suddenly realised it wasn't fulfilling the superhero quota and inserted a random antagonist in the third act.

The movie's explanation was Victor von Doom fell victim to his violent and aspirational demons by being trapped on Planet Zero and being exposed to its rays.

Writer Simon David Kinberg stated that Doom was as important as the other four members and his fall into villainy was tragic. Yet in the film we didn't get to see how he went from being a technician prone to anger and then into the remorseless head popper, he became in the climax of the movie.

This was doubly frustrating since the character didn't share the attributes of his comic-book counterpart besides a green cloak and metal face.

When the MCU decides on the villain for their version of the titular four, the character must resemble its comic-book origin and have thematic relevance for being there, rising questions in the mind of our protagonists.

If they were to attempt at Doom again they'd need to introduce him as the leader of Latveria so that his actions, unjust in the eyes of the heroes, had some understanding.
