MCU Phase 4: 10 Comic Book Panels That Must Be Recreated
5. Doctor Strange Fights Mordo
Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo may have started out as an ally in the MCU, but it was made clear for all to see that, by its end, he was embarking on a villainous turn.
That's always been the case in the comics, where Mordo and Dormammu have formed a fearsome partnership on more than one occasion. What better way to usher in the unconfirmed Doctor Strange sequel, then, than with a fight between the pair?
Steve Ditko was at the peak of his game when he was drawing Strange, and the first film did a good job of showing the visual aspects of magical combat whenever an action scene cropped up. We never got to see Strange face off against another wizard at the height of his prime though, and with Stephen being placed at the centre of the Marvel Universe going forward, one would imagine he's getting stronger by the day.
We're still waiting on that Strange sequel confirmation, but it's bound to get rubber-stamped soon. When it does, expect to see the film pay homage to Ditko in much the same way Ragnarok is doing with Jack Kirby.
