MCU Phase 4: 10 Marvel Movies Taika Waititi Should Direct
1. Beta Ray Bill
Beta Ray Bill and Taika Waititi are a match made in absurdist heaven. Away from the noise of fans shouting for Fantastic Four or X-Men to be brought over the MCU, many comic book fans are crying out for Beta Ray Bill.
The Korbinite (not a fan of politician Jeremy but instead a humanoid race from the Burning Galaxy) was the first non-Norseman to wield Mjolnir, and also the original owner of Thor’s new weapon, Stormbreaker. Obviously if he’s introduced now that has to change, as Stormbreaker was made specifically for Thor, but there’s no reason he can’t be given a similar axe to wreak havoc with.
It’s clear Waititi wants to get the best out of he character too; he was original in the first draft of Ragnarok, but was cut because his appearance was too fleeting. “It didn’t do it justice,” MCU Watcher Kevin Feige said, “And the feeling is if you can’t do it justice, do it later.”
As a superpowered cyborg spacehorse, it’s easy to see why Waititi wanted him in the MCU. He’s basically BoJack Horseman if he wasn’t depressed and instead possessed enough power to defeat the Gods themselves. Surely he deserves an appearance in Phase 4.
