MCU Phase 4: 10 Massive Stories Marvel Could Adapt Next

1. Secret Invasion

The seeds for Secret Invasion are possibly already being sewn in Captain Marvel, but it's definitely too big of a story to be limited to just one chapter. The arc would work better with the revelation of a Skrull invasion of Earth (or at least the blueprint for one) in Marvel's debut and for the start of Phase 4 (or even the tail-end of Phase 3) to peel back some tantalising layers suggesting that some established heroes are already replacements.

The biggest selling point for Secret Invasion is that it would change things up in a more organic way than simply killing off loads of characters in an attempt to offer up a clean slate. Far more shocking would be the suggestion that some of our darling heroes were actually impostors. Imagine the fall-out.

And it would completely change the genre of the MCU for one full arc: instead of it being all-out action, we'd have a more sinister, understated threat, as all characters came under threat and we'd end up with an extended detective saga of sorts. Preferably led by Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange.
