MCU Phase 4: 10 Things Fans Most Want To See
1. A Sequel To Thor: Ragnarok
Apart from the Avengers series, the MCU is yet to make a fourth entry in a particular trilogy. Iron Man, Captain America and Thor have all had three films now, but while those first two characters are set to depart the franchise soon, the God of Thunder still has plenty more left to give.
Thor: Ragnarok illustrated that point perfectly, providing an uplifting take on the character's world in a way neither of its predecessors managed to do. It debuted as one of the best-reviewed Marvel movies thus far, and though there has been talk of a sequel, with Taika Waititi even slated to return as director, nothing concrete has been confirmed.
A follow-up would be a no-brainer for Marvel though. With newcomers Valkyrie, Korg and Miek, the studio have the foundations to start a whole new trilogy of Thor films - each more bombastic in scope than the last.
We all know that this new phase is set up to be 'distinctly different', and though a whole new series of films centred around a staple of the franchise might contradict that, Ragnarok was a distinctly different kind of Marvel movie. Here's hoping that they keep the momentum going, and sanction a sequel.
