MCU Phase 4: 10 Things They Must Address (And Not Just Forget About)

With Avengers: Endgame closing the Infinity Saga in 2019, fans have committed to mass speculation on the franchise's future. Who will lead the Avengers? What are the ramifications of Endgame's time travel? Will Keanu Reeves ever appear? So many open questions that as of yet remain unanswered.

There are so many different directions they can go in, from focusing on alternate realities to introducing totally new characters to ensure the MCU ship will continue sailing. However, this also leads to some caveats. Yes, they have a thousand and one possible ways to go, but the franchise so far has established some things and done others that simply cannot be forgotten about or ignored.

Some are worth maybe a throwaway line, while others require a deeper breakdown. Severity is irrelevant, however, as these rules and laws can lead to big problems if they are omitted. Character deaths, in-universe laws, alternate timelines - there are several factors now at play in the Marvel films that simply can't be ignored. With this in mind, let's count down ten things the MCU can't just forget about moving into Phase 4.

Spider-Man remains one of the most popular figures in the MCU, but that doesn't mean his past shouldn't still haunt him. Endgame saw Tony Stark sacrifice himself to save the universe from Thanos's decimating second snap; as Parker's mentor, this would be a crushing blow for his confidence as Far From Home illustrated. It should remain a part of his character, to see someone he idolised and trusted gone is still a great loss that shouldn't be overlooked.

Not only this, but his identity has been revealed to the world. This is obviously a major upheaval to his world, so much so he'd likely need some help to deal with it, whether through legal means or by multiverse manipulation. This could be a part of his proper inclusion into the Avengers, him learning to work as a team or with other heroes - maybe even butting heads.

Spidey's future is a fascinating aspect of the MCU, and it would be a shame to see it not be acknowledged past his upcoming third MCU film. So many avenues they could take the character, so much there's still to do with his development; let's just hope they do him justice.
