MCU Phase 4: 10 Things They Must Address (And Not Just Forget About)

8. Wakanda Is Open To The World

Since 2017, Black Panther's nation has had its borders open to the rest of the Earth after the events of that film. As a result, it would be a terrible shame for the writers to forget such a thing has happened.

Wakanda is a nation of great technological advancement, and after Kilmonger came and (nearly) conquered it, T'challa decided to bring his country to the door of global politics. Such a thing was a huge leap forward for both Wakanda and the wider world, so there should naturally be some interesting scenarios arising from it.

Vibranium would likely be a source of conflict between the world and the material-rich Wakanda. It's a great mineral that has a wide variety of applications, both for combat and other situations, so it stands to reason the world would like to enjoy the Vibranium-laden benefits T'challa's people have.

Even if this wasn't a story for the future MCU, there should still be logical questions asked as to why Wakanda didn't open its borders sooner; if they had, the world may have been better equipped to deal with Ultron, or Thanos, or any other Marvel evildoer. Such interesting political implications should not be omitted from the MCU's coming years.
