MCU Phase 4: 10 Things They Must Address (And Not Just Forget About)
3. Iron Man Is Dead
Iron Man is very much colder than his extremely cool armour at this point. Please don't bring him back; his sacrifice will be made pointless by his return and it would just open more questions than it would answer.
Where Black Widow went from scary and cold to warmer and sacrificial, Tony Stark went from carefree genius billionaire playboy philanthropist to... well, still a playboy, but he did come to care quite deeply about his actions. Ten years and a massively successful film franchise later, he proved his change of heart, permanently, by snapping Thanos and his army away at the cost of his own life.
The ultimate sacrifice to rid the universe of its biggest threat, Stark deserves all the respect for not only this deed, but also all his work to establish a world of heroes. To see him return in any capacity, outside of Mysterio's illusions taunting Spider-Man, would be a big disservice to Tony's most important moment.
It's not worth trying to make Parker the new Stark, either. Spider-Man is a different hero to Iron Man, and it would feel as though he's just a younger replacement to make him take over Stark's role. There's not much to gain bringing the Golden Avenger back.
