MCU Phase 4: 8 Reasons Why It Must Look To The Past

7. More Agent Carter

Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter might've passed away in the wake of Civil War, but the character - a fan-favourite amongst the Marvel faithful - shouldn't be winding down her MCU presence.

Season 2 of Agent Carter might not have been as good as its first, but that doesn't mean it should've been cancelled. Shows lose and recover form all the time, and while Marvel aren't exactly short on good TV properties at the mo', there's still plenty of space for Peggy to take a starring role. That aforementioned Cold War era is ripe for exploration, and who better than Peggy - a character audiences are already familiar with - to do the exploring?

Atwell is a hero on the screen and off it, and with Peggy having had a role in S.H.I.E.L.D. as late as 1989, there's plenty of history to explore. You don't have to think long and hard about how dynamite a S.H.I.E.L.D. prequel would be with her at the helm either, perhaps with a young Nick Fury and Alexander Pierce in a supporting role too.

And really, who wouldn't be up for more Agent Carter, be it in a TV show or otherwise?
