MCU Phase 4 Avengers: 15 Characters Who Must Appear (And Who Should Play Them)

11. Abigail Brand - Mary Elizabeth Winstead

While S.H.I.E.L.D. may act as the protection force within the Earth's atmosphere, S.W.O.R.D. is the watchful eye defending the Marvel Universe from extraterrestrial threats... or, at least it was, having now been replaced by Captain Marvel's Alpha Flight in the comics.

In either case, Abigail Brand has been a key player, having headed up S.H.I.E.L.D's spacefaring cousin and then assisted Danvers on its replacement. Her combination of alien and mutant powers also gives her a unique perspective on the whole Earth-defence-thing, and given the MCU continues to look to the stars, it wouldn't be disingenuous to assume the character could appear in Phase 4.

With her connections to both the worlds of the X-Men and Captain Marvel, Brand would be the perfect character to bring into the MCU - her comic book history with Marvel's mutants could even be a way to slowly introduce homosuperior into this universe.

Anyhow, Mary Elizabeth Winstead should be the one to portray the character on-screen if she is to be introduced, as for one she is a brilliant actress, and we already know she can pull off the green-hair look from her appearance in Scott Pilgrim.
