MCU Phase 4 Avengers: 15 Characters Who Must Appear (And Who Should Play Them)

12. Norman Osborn - Garret Dillahunt

Shang-Chi - Iko Uwais
Marvel/FX

If the rumblings that Marvel are looking to adapt the Secret Invasion storyline and then follow it up with the Dark Avengers are true, then Norman Osborn should definitely be included as soon as possible.

The character ended the aforementioned invasion when he got the kill shot on the Skrull Queen, and afterwards he was appointed to the position that Tony Stark held before him: the leader of the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D., the latter of which he promptly renamed H.A.M.M.E.R.

So, if Osborn is to be the figurehead of a fair few Marvel films, then someone who would be able to portray his complex personality of insanity, arrogance and charisma is surely required. In that case, Garret Dillahunt, who has expertly depicted these traits across his previous performances, would be a fabulous choice.

Sure, he may not exactly look the part (you'd be hard-pressed to find an actor who can pull off that haircut), but what really matters is his acting chops, something which Dillahunt has in spades.
