MCU Phase 4: Predicting Every Major Character That Will Join
8. Blade
First Appearance: Tomb of Dracula #10
Before Iron Man, Spider-Man or even the X-Men, there was one Marvel hero who really made waves in cinema. That character was Blade, and with Wesley Snipes in the title role he made waves from 1998 through to the early 2000s (best not to discuss Blade: Trinity).
The character's gone AWOL ever since though, and while his rights have been back with Marvel for some time now, there's been relatively little talk of a proper Blade reboot. Snipes was said to have held talks with Marvel about reprising the part, but nothing genuine has really emerged since.
Fans of the Daywalker need not be so despondent however. Just the other week, in the press junket leading up to Infinity War's premier, Kevin Feige spoke of his desire to visit the horror genre in the MCU, and although the producer clarified he prefers Poltergeist more than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it proves that Blade has to be on the cards over at Marvel Studios.
He's the company's most iconic horror-bound hero, possessing an onscreen reverence they can't afford to neglect. All that remains to be seen is whether it's with Snipes, or without him.
