Like Nova, Adam Warlock is another of Marvel's cosmic do-gooders snubbed at the last minute for a key part in both Guardians films. Despite this, he does appear in one of the many after-credits sequences for Guardians 2, unleashed from his cocoon as a weapon of the Sovereign race.

Those familiar with the character's comics-self will know, however, that Adam is much more of a hero than he is a villain, and that while he'll probably be introduced as an antagonist for the third Guardians film, it won't be long before he's kicking it with Nebula, Rocket et al. as a fully fledged member of the group.

Warlock fans might feel slightly aggrieved that the character was seemingly robbed of his defining moment against Thanos, but at least he'll have time to develop in the next entry of the Guardians franchise.
