The X-Men are a team who need no introduction, and while the long-gestating Disney-Fox merger is still awaiting approval, Marvel fans can expect to see Marvel's mutants in the MCU sooner, rather than later. Not soon as in soon soon, but still, there's little chance that Disney will sit on them for too long.
The only discrepancy to note really is what team Marvel Studios will look to include in the MCU, and how they go about retroactively adding mutants into the established continuity. It's easy for things to get pretty convoluted after all, and while the temptation will obviously be there to revert to the team's most iconic self - with Jean Grey, Cyclops and Wolverine leading the way - there's a whole world of mutants yet to get their chance to shine.
They might be a ways away from joining properly, but there's just no way the X-Men get ignored.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
