Seeing as how Thor: The Dark World almost certainly never happened, and Thor: Ragnarok became only the second Thor feature to have released in the last eight years, it looks as though Marvel still have a trilogy to complete.
Okay, yes, The Dark World did happen, but it was so far off what everyone has come to expect of a Thor film that it's left a gap to be filled. Taika Waititi can fill that gap, and with talk of a sequel to Ragnarok already mounting, a fourth entry in Marvel's Thor series could yet be the biggest surprise of the studio's latest phase.
Either that, or Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie gets the solo movie she deserves and replaces Chris Hemsworth as the new Thor, not all that dissimilar to how Jane Foster became the Goddess of Thunder in the comics but a few years ago.
The Avengers might be Marvel's only franchise to break the three-entry barrier, but if any hero were most deserving of another solo outing - especially after Ragnarok - it would be Thor.
