MCU Phase 4: Which Characters Will Return After Avengers: Endgame?

26. Thor

Status: Alive

He might not be in the best shape of his life, but the God Of Thunder was a riot for most of Endgame (if you ignored the insensitivity of the portrayal of his PTSD as a bit of a joke, anyway) and is hugely rewarding to watch. After Thor: Ragnarok, we were all primed to expect more from him, but there was also a nagging doubt he'd be killed off to make room for more new heroes.

Thankfully, he's still here and he's still heckin' chonk, I believe the kids say.

Next Up: Asgardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

The end of the movie revealed that Thor has no desire to rule, so he's gone to "find himself" effectively, handing Asgard over to its real ruler and joining the Guardians Of The Galaxy. He's coming back, just not as we initially expected he would.

25. Star-Lord

Status: Alive

Feel bad for blaming him for Infinity War's end yet? Have you realised that there was no way he could have reacted any other way? He's human, that's the entire point of his arc. Had he been more like his father, then he wouldn't have reacted as he did, but that's what makes him great.

Anyway, he got his moment of reunion with Gamora in Endgame and also another pay-off of his macho conflict with Thor as an added bonus. And a lot of the end was about what comes next for him and his crew.

Next Up: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3

Brilliantly, we're getting James Gunn's version of Vol 3 AND it's clearly going to include Thor. This is something we can all agree is VERY exciting. And we probably also have an idea of the plot too...
