Blade is back and he's been confirmed for Phase 5. In one of the biggest shocks of any Marvel panel at any Comic Con, Mahershala Ali stole the Hall H thunder in spectacular fashion by walking out and putting a hat on. Not only is he perfect casting, the project is seen by fans as the restoration of a beloved character to activity after way too long a hiatus.

Whether we are actually going to get an MCU movie or Feige will use the opportunity of Disney+'s different vibe to wade more into hard-R rating territory (still not something we're likely to see in the MCU no matter how many flirtations with the supernatural are coming).

They've already got a strong foundation in Ali's casting and if they follow that up with a film-maker/show-runner who knows horror and charm (if only Jordan Peele hadn't ruled himself out), this could be what we've all been waiting for no matter how it airs.
