By the time we meet Ronan again in 2014, he's no longer answering to the Supreme Intelligence and it's not the kind of powerful entity that you can expect to have just retired from active duty. The supremely powerful artificial intelligence also isn't the kind of "person" to take Captain Marvel's betrayal of the Kree lying down either.

So while Yon-Rogg may have been sent to the Kree homeworld to warn his boss, this will be seen as a more overt act of war on Marvel's part and things are likely going to escalate. Could that mean we'll get to see a full blown star wars?

Strictly speaking, Benning may not even need to return. The Supreme Intelligence appears to whoever sees it in a form they choose themselves, so it could be that she could be played by someone else entirely this time around.
