MCU: Predicting 25 Movies Marvel Will Make After Phase 3
11. The Wasp
The Film
Having set the groundwork in both Ant-Man and the forthcoming Ant-Man And The Wasp, it's about time Evangeline Lilly's Wasp got her own movie. Perhaps it could focus on Kraven The Hunter's son Alyosha Kravinoff, who has encountered both Ant-Man and The Wasp in the comics and could be a nice step off from Kraven HOPEFULLY appearing in Spider-Man's own sequel.
Any Evidence?
Not a great deal, but Ant-Man's Adam McKay was asked the question by IGN and his answer was intriguing...
Possibly. I think it all depends on this sequel and how the character plays. Certainly there’s a lot of female superheroes in the Marvel universe so I’m sure you’re going to see them start to spread out. They sort of started with their kind of bedrock characters from the 60s and the 70s and I think you saw more of an explosion of female characters happening in the 80s and then the 90s. X-Men obviously has great female characters, but that’d be interesting, a Wasp movie. I don’t know, that’d be very interesting. I always think of the two of them as kind of together – they always were in the comics – but why not. Sure.
Any Groundwork?
Nothing yet, as it's a little early, but there's every chance the Ant-Man sequel will open up some possibilities for her to work alone in future.
