MCU: Predicting Marvel's Next 20 "Completely Different" Movies

12. Star-Lord

The Vanity Fair feature explicitly mentions the fact that James Gunn is currently collaborating with the Marvel top guys on the possibility of spinning some Guardians characters off. And even though that series has so far been about oddball characters finding a place as a family, it does make sense to try and double down on some of the best individual brands in there.

One of the most obvious possibilities is Star-Lord, who would be phenomenal as the lead in a Marvel meets Han Solo space pirate sort of deal, battling Ravagers and aliens and generally being the charismatic galactic star everyone wanted Nathan Fillion to be in the MCU for a while.

Chris Pratt's performance as Peter Quill deserves more space to breathe (even if he ends up with new sidekicks and allies), and perhaps having his solo movie introduce Nova in a culture clash buddy movie might be the perfect answer.
