Played by Robert Downey Jr, Tony Stark is effectively the founding father of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is the self-titled genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist whose day job is to be CEO of his father's company Stark Industries, but more importantly has the alter ego of the superhero Iron Man.
He is known for his genius-level intelligence and fun-loving lifestyle with no worry about modesty towards his money, showing off his wealth with no second thought. Tony is one of the founding members of the Avengers Initiative and brings witty comedy which bounces off other members brilliantly, most notably Captain America.
Robert Downey Jr has received an exceptional amount of praise for his portrayal of Tony Stark/ Iron Man with some actors tipping their hats to him for his help in "paving the way for superhero movies".
