MCU Secret Invasion: Which Heroes Could Be Skrulls?

10. Black Widow

Remember that red in her ledger? What if she wasn't talking about her past association with the Red Room and Russia? What if she was making a bald-faced confession that she's actually a Skrull? And what if her allusion to being a "monster" like Hulk in Avengers: Age Of Ultron was more literal than it was initially taken?

The major advantage of having Black Widow revealed to be a Skrull would be the natural focus on her as more of a main character. It's not really a stand-in for her own solo movie, but it's about time she got more to do. She could be the stand-in for Veranke, the Skrull Empress, who embeds herself deep in the Avengers to destabilise them from within.

Or, given the complex requirements of the story, it would make sense for Marvel to introduce a Skrull with a conscience who turns on their homeland and reveals the truth (and how to destroy them), and Black Widow would be a great candidate in that respect. It would, after all, mirror Natasha's defection from Russia.
