If we have to watch another scene where the people of New York rally around Spider-Man, well vomit. One of the hallmarks of Spidey is that the general public doesnt trust or appreciate him. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are respectable world-saving heroes like the Avengers who have earned the publics trust, but Spider-Man should exist as a separate entity. As one of the few superheroes in the Marvel movies with a secret identity, the lack of transparency should make people question his motives and origins. Even though in the real world, Spider-Man is one of the most popular superheroes of all time, if he is as loved in his fictional world it rings hollow.
