MCU: What Captain Marvel Means For Avengers: Endgame

1. Ant-Man Is The Key, Not Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel is going to be with the Avengers from the start, and that means she isn't going to be the key to Endgame. Sure, she'll be a huge asset and help to sway the tide back in their favour somewhat, but she's part of the pack rather than the ace up the sleeve.

That honour seemingly belongs to Ant-Man, which was suggested before Captain Marvel anyway. Then, though, there were various rumours that the Quantum Realm would appear in Captain Marvel, and that could give us further clues as to its use in Endgame. It wasn't to be, since the Quantum Realm doesn't get a mention, and that puts a lot more pressure on Ant-Man.

Assuming he goes along with the first plan, which then fails, it seems likely everyone will be ready to give up. And that's when Ant-Man can pipe up with his knowledge of the Quantum Realm, which is seemingly going to be the key to time-travel and to undoing or preventing the snap. Once they're in the action, it'll be up to all the other Avengers to do their thing, and it's quite likely he'll work with Bruce Banner and Tony Stark on developing the plans too, but it still means Ant-Man is gonna be the one who starts the process. Paul Rudd is the saviour of the universe, although we already knew that.
