MCU: What Captain Marvel Means For Avengers: Endgame

2. Captain Marvel Will Go With The Avengers To Defeat Thanos

Since we now know that Captain Marvel is in Endgame from the beginning, then it means she's almost certainly been edited out of at least one moment in the trailers, if not two (there were a couple that looked like a character had been removed, and she'd fit in both of them).

The most pertinent is the team shot above, which sees the Avengers clearly heading out on some kind of mission as they attempt to undo the Decimation. Most likely, that means trying to find Thanos, and we can surmise from that Captain Marvel will be a big part of it. For one, she is adept to going into space, which is somewhere many of them have never been before.

Secondly, she's incredibly powerful and linked to an Infinity Stone, giving their plan a greater chance of succeeding. Not that it will. Endgame is shaping up to be around 3 hours long, which means there's a lot of ground to cover, and the Avengers can't simply come up with a plan and execute it. There needs to be failure, and a Plan B. So while Captain Marvel will be part of the plan, the Russos are likely to ensure she doesn't simply turn up and save the day by having Thanos either win or, more likely, escape, leading to the time-travel escapades that've been so heavily rumoured.
