1. The Lazy, Predictable Ending

And finally, though Mechanic: Resurrection isn't a carbon copy of the original movie, it does arrive at an ending that lazily riffs on it in the most predictable, boring fashion possible.
We shan't say anymore than that, but if you've seen the original movie, you'll know exactly what's coming, and the movie's attempt to trick the viewer just comes off as hollow and low-effort.
The filmmakers clearly think they're nodding playfully at how the first film ended, but in honesty it just feels highly unimaginative. If there's somehow a third movie (not likely), this surely can't be recycled again.
